This is my dad’s favourite dish and one of the very few recipes he prepares at home
. It’s easy to make, delicious and needs to be served on weekends (you don’t want the garlicky smell to flood your office, right?!). We served it with a roasted tomato & garlic sauce and our traditional Romanian mamaliga (polenta). You can find the recipe for polenta here.

This is one of the first meals I made in my lovely new kitchen
. It’s a simple yet delicious meal. I found the recipe here (and then adjusted to my taste). You can serve the cutlets with cooked potatoes, rice or salad. It’s the perfect choice for lunch or a light dinner.

Summer and other plans are keeping me busy! I feel like I have almost no time to cook or blog. When I’m this busy, I usually make dishes with chicken. There are so many easy chicken recipes out there that it’s impossible not to find one that can get you in and out of the kitchen in no time. I’ve made this super easy dish about a week ago and we loved it. If you love chicken and mozzarella you should definitely try it out. We served it over cooked spaghetti.

Yet another quick and easy chicken recipe with mushrooms that tastes delicious. Chicken Chasseur is a French bistro classic that can be served with mashed potatoes. The tomato and white-wine sauce adds a great flavour to the dish. C’est magnifique!

I made this about two weeks ago but did not get a chance to post the recipe until now. We’ve been busy looking for and buying our first home… it was such a great and exciting experience! On top of that I’ve been studying for an exam, so I had almost no time to cook or post recipes
. But good news, I’m back in the kitchen (and no, not in our new kitchen… or at least not until July), making some delicious recipes that I can’t wait to share with you. And now let’s get back to this quick and easy-to-make recipe that really saved me during those busy times I was mentioning.

I’ve been planning to make beans with smoked sausages for some time and this weekend I finally managed to do so. This recipe is very easy but it might take more time to get your meal ready… it all depends whether you choose to soak the beans or not. I’ve always soaked beans as I find it cuts cooking time and the beans usually turn out to be tenderer (not always though!). If you cook the beans in tap water that is hard your beans may never get tender. Many other cooks suggest that you don’t necessarily have to soak them, that it’s all just a matter of preference. I’ve recently come across an interesting post on how to cook dried beans and what the chefs have to say about soaking beans. Follow this link to read more details and now let’s get started…
Time: 75 min, Prep: 15 min. Cook: 60 min. + time to soak the beans if you decide to do so

When it comes to breakfast, poached eggs are my favourite. This past weekend I have decided to try something different so I made baked eggs in tomato sauce. You can quickly make the tomato sauce and either poach or bake the eggs in it. You can serve them with toasted bread or garlic bread. They are also prefect for lunch or supper when you want to whip up a quick meal.

The first time I tried Niçoise salad was this spring during our honeymoon, while wandering on the streets of Nice. The vibrant and colourful contrast of green beans, hard-boiled eggs, tomatoes, olives and other veggies combined with the chunks of tuna fish make this recipe a very appealing meal regardless of the season. I have never tried to make it at home … until today. I must say the result was an amazing, delicious and healthy meal!
